With a voice Lionel Richie of American Idol called “a cannon,” Nathan Walton has become “an indisputable star here in our community” and Staff Pick for Best Solo Musician in Revue Magazine’s “2021 Best of the West” issue. According to Revue contributing editor, Eric Mitts, “Walton has shone bright. Sure, his powerful, soulful vocals draw most of the attention, but it’s his prolifically diverse songwriting and passion behind the scenes that make him an increasingly major part of the music scene, and an artist everyone should know.”
Nathan appeared on Season 3 of ABC’s American Idol, where he received a Golden Ticket and competed in Hollywood with talented vocalists from all over the country. West Michigan’s original soul-rocker, Walton fronts his band, The Remedy, and has recently assembled the “super-group” King Possum with other well-known local multi-instrumentalists. He regularly lends his powerful voice to collaborate with studios on Soundbetter, and with special guests at his Greyline Brewing residency. Walton has mastered albums at Jack White's Third Man Record Company in Detroit and recorded his freshman album Nathan Walton and The Remedy at Third Coast Recording Co. in Grand Haven. His latest releases "Daybreak" and "Night Drive" create a double record spanning musical genres. Now with his band known as Nathan Walton & The Remedy, Nathan is gearing toward live performances and new studio work sessions.
Committed to helping musicians and others in the community, Nathan has performed for the Michigan Musician Alliance’s “Michigan Artist Relief Fund” and WZZM’s “13 Food for Families” campaign. He also serves as Music Director for Elevator a GoGo, a West Michigan-based platform to discover music, the spoken word, and performance artists from America and around the world.
West Michigan musician Caitlin Cusack is known for her moving and motivating music. After a life-changing brain injury coupled with the loss of her parents in the span of three years, Caitlin has forged a new path as a singer-songwriter to process and heal. Self-accompanied on piano, Caitlin creates catchy, singable melodies with vivid storytelling. Her pop musical style appeals to fans of Sarah Mclaughlan, Elton John, and Sara Bareilles. Her debut single “I’ll Be Okay” is available worldwide on all streaming platforms. Learn more at caitlincusackmusic.com.
Olivia Vargas is a Grand Rapids singer/songwriter and front woman of the Soul-Pop band, August. Known for her vulnerable and raw lyricism, soaring vocals, and knack for harmonies, Olivia can be found delving into the depths of emotion at her keyboard.
“Lane Ellens, a lakeshore native, has been writing and playing music in Michigan for the past 8 years. Housing textures ranging from hushed americana to indie stadium pop his work reaches for the universally relatable minutiae of his surroundings. Songs for dim rooms and incense as much as steering wheels and westward motion.”
