Annie Bacon is a writer and songwriter living in Ann Arbor, Michigan (via Maine and San Francisco). With her OSHEN she merges a literary writing style and folk-rock Americana sound to create rich and emotionally complex music. She's composed a Folk Opera, co-created a musical, is writing a novel on themes of motherhood & war, and in June 2024 released her seventh studio project with the OSHEN: Storm, a meditation on grief. Bacon lays her soul bare as she confronts broken hearts, death and the loss of her own identity, all while utilizing the strengths of folk music’s sincerity in storytelling and rock n roll’s engagement with our primal emotions. It’s an album that starts with a scream ("Secret Broken Heart") and ends with a whisper (“Worry”). Michigan native Michael Robertson has a knack for recognizing irony when exploring the nuances of unremarkable – yet universal – life experiences. Robertson crafts songs that blend modern Americana with country and rock flavors, and his vocals go down smooth, with a tinge of world-weariness that fits the lyrics. As a guitarist, he brings a lyrical and soulful touch that has made him in demand among fellow songwriters. Michael has released two collections of his songs, “All My Stories” and “Moon Over Michigan.”
